Bassett Healthcare Blood Drive

From 9:00AM to 3:00PM

Anyone able to donate on June 23 at the National Baseball Hall of Fame will receive free admission to the museum on that day. The National Baseball Hall of Fame is located 25 Main St. in Cooperstown. Also, the American Red Cross is sponsoring a daily raffle during the month to all presenting donors for a chance to win a $50 gas card.

Herb and Flower Festival

From 9:00AM to 3:00PM

Come to the 16th Annual Herb & Flower Festival. It emphasizes gardening for greater beauty and enjoyment. Aside from nearly 50 plant and garden merchandise vendors, the Festival also provides gardeners with information about up-to-date practices to enhance their efforts to achieve beautiful gardens. The Herb and Flower Festival is held in the Parker F. Scripture Botanical Gardens at the Oneida County Farm and Home Center, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County, on Second Street and Judd Rd. in Oriskany, near the former Oneida County Airport. A variety of gardening related classes are offered throughout the day, donation of $3 entrance fee to the event. These classes provide a ‘potpourri’ of gardening topics designed to allow present and future gardeners to gain state-of-the-art information towards garden beauty.

The Clark Mills Fire Department Annual Field Days

From 1:00PM to 11:55PM

The event will take place on the Fireman's Field across from the Fire Hall. It will run at the time posted with a parade at 6:30. The parade will be followed by musical band, The Bomb, playing live from 7:00 - 11:30pm.

Benefit for Nicole Dukerich & Antonio Soullas

From 2:00PM to 6:00PM

Benefit for Nicole Dukerich and Antonio Soullas. It's for a beautiful daughter, mother and friend, and also her son who is pulling through but has some injuries. Please come to the benefit to support her and her family through this tragic time. Nicole was killed in a recent traffic accident and Antonio is just 3 years old. Ilion Elks Club, 8 West Street, Ilion. There will be bands, food, drinks, chinese auction, 50/50 raffle and more. Admission $15. Kids 10 and under are free.

Heart Surgery Benefit

From 3:00PM to 5:00PM

There’s a different kind of benefit for Brandon Beal, who was born with a heart defect & almost died at birth. But with great doctors, and 3 open heart surgeries, Brandon is enjoying life as a child should. But Brandon will still need 2 or 3 more open heart surgeries as he grows. Bring in your unwanted gold, silver, diamonds, old coins and paper money to Gold Leaf Refining, on Commercial Drive in New Hartford, across from Wal Mart. Free refreshments and snacks. A portion of your transaction will benefit little Brandon.

Family Fire Victims Benefit

From 3:00PM to 6:00PM

For Terry (Christman) Krutz and family. The family lost everything in a house fire December 15, 2011--including their pets. They have purchased another house trying to make a new start, but it needs major renovations. Major repairs consists of new roof, foundation repairs and kitchen cabinets (there are none). The benefit will be at the Mountain Man Country Club, Route 163 in Fort Plain. There's a Brooks BBQ, Chinese auction, raffles and DJ Walt Maaser.

Regatta

Sailors and spectators will be setting course for Oneida Lake June 23 and 24 for a J/24 Class District 7 Pennant Series Regatta. The two-day, five-race event will set sail from Callahan’s and Oneida Lake Marinas on the southeast corner of the lake off Route 31. Racing on the eastern end of Oneida Lake will be visible from North and South Bay as well as the Verona and Sylvan Beach areas. Racing will commence both Saturday and Sunday at 10 A.M., with registration, check-in and skipper’s meetings beforehand. Weekend festivities will also include a Friday happy hour, dinner on Saturday, and a complimentary concluding awards picnic on Sunday afternoon.
