Sculpture Space's Mardi Gras Party 2013
Mohawk Valley residents and visitors are invited to Sculpture Space’s renowned 13th Annual Mardi Gras Party at the Radisson Hotel-Utica Centre Ballroom. As always, this promises to be a unique, wild and fabulous benefit, made possible in part with sponsorship support from generous local, regional, national and international businesses and corporations, including Bank of Utica, ConMed, J.P. Morgan Chase, PJ Green, Inc. and the New Hartford Town Crier.
Admission includes an open bar featuring signature drinks, a parade of monumental dancing marionettes from the Catskill Puppet Theater, the popular radio DJ Big Poppa, authentic Cajun delicacies, masks and beads, a costume contest, and more surprise entertainment. Partygoers are encouraged to take advantage of the Radisson’s overnight special package for $189.00, which includes two admission tickets, overnight accommodations and breakfast. For more information, please call the Radisson at 315-797-8010 for more information.
“Sculpture Space’s Mardi Gras 2013 Party, now in its 13th year, has perfected the art of partying, at the time of year when Cabin Fever has just begun to settle in,” noted Robert Avery, Chair of the special event and a member of Sculpture Space’s Board of Directors. He adds that it is “more like a party than a fundraiser (guests frequently forget it’s a benefit they are having so much fun)! Come ‘wild or mild,’ costumed, in ball gowns or in street clothes, anything goes – just like New Orleans! And for those who get inspired, the dancing platforms will be there as well!”
Tickets are now on sale for $50 per person. To reserve, please call Sculpture Space at 315-724-8381. If you’d like to invite your friends, you can purchase ten tickets for $450 (a savings of $50 -- use promo code MG2013 – this is only available for advanced purchase and offer ends February 19). Tickets may also be purchased online at http://www.sculpturespace.org/mg13. All proceeds from the 13th Annual Mardi Gras Party make it possible for Sculpture Space to continue to attract exceptional artists to the Mohawk Valley for fully funded two-month residencies as well as ensure exceptional community programming. Since 1976, Sculpture Space has invited artists to come from all over the world to Utica to create unique, one-of-a-kind artworks that are subsequently exhibited locally and regionally as well as nationally and internationally in parks, museums and galleries.
