Sauquoit Valley Garden Club Spring Plant Sale

WHO: Sauquoit Valley Garden Club.
WHAT: Plant and Bake Sale featuring plants from Brick House Acres Greenhouse. The sale includes quality annuals and perennial flowers, hanging baskets and planters, along with vegetable plants.
WHERE: Old Town of Paris Garage on Pinnacle Road, and across the road at Reilly’s Dairy.
WHY: Proceeds to benefit local scholarships.

Scoharie Valley Hayshakes Hawaiian Square Dance

The Schoharie Valley Hayshakers will hold a Hawaiian night covered dish dinner and mainstream level western square dance at the Middleburgh Elementary School cafeteria. Buffet dinner served at 6:30 pm with dancing at 7:30 pm. The callers are Chuck and Gerry Hardy and the cuer is Dolores Randall. Please wear soft sole shoes.

OCA 85th Anniversary Gala Concert

Oneonta Concert Association presents its 85th Anniversary Gala Concert: the great jazz bassist Ron Carter and his “Golden Striker Trio” , at Foothills Performing Arts Center, Oneonta. AND this concert is FREE to new OCA subscribers, and everyone is invited to a Gala Anniversary Reception at 6:30 before the concert! Ron Carter is among the most original, prolific, and influential bassists in jazz. With more than 2,000 albums to his credit, he has recorded with many of music's greats: Tommy Flanagan, Gil Evans, Lena Horne, Bill Evans, B.B. King, the Kronos Quartet, Dexter Gordon, and Wes Montgomery. He toured Europe with Cannonball Adderley, and was a member of the acclaimed Miles Davis Quintet in the ‘60s. He was named Jazz Bassist of the Year several times by Downbeat Magazine. Oneonta Concert Association is currently holding its subscription drive for its 86th season, 2013-14, when it will present Ron Carter’s “Golden Striker Trio” 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 17th, at Foothills Performing Arts Center, Oneonta
