||2013 Early Childhood Educators Fall Conference
||The registration period for the 2013 Early Childhood Educators Fall Conference is now open. This conference is open to all educators, including parents and guardians.
The conference will hold a total of 5 sessions, each with 3 workshops for parents and educators to attend. Topics of workshops range from reduced-salt cooking ("Wake Up Your Taste Buds"), to learning about the Affordable Health Care Act ("Do You Care Enough"), to dealing with the issues and changes that your children go through ("Boogers, Belches & Bottoms: What's the Big Deal?").
Full day and Single Session registration is available. EIP grants will be available to qualified providers. A total of 6.25 training hours can be earned from attending this conference. ||Camp Nazareth Fund Raiser
||Granny's Kitchens, LLC is holding its 1st Annual Softball tournament at 12 North Sports Bar. This event is to set up a scholarship fund for Camp Nazareth to help send children to summer camp. We will have a 50/50 raffle along with a Chinese Auction. All money collected will be matched dollar for dollar by our corporate office. The event will be held rain or shine.
||Amsterdam Citywide Volunteer Cleanup
||Come join in the City of Amsterdams annual citywide volunteer fall clean up! Your participation makes the difference! Our goal is to get to 200 volunteers & 500+ bags of litter gathered up from our streets, parks, playgrounds & public areas . Items must be gathered from the great outdoors. Unacceptable items include household trash, leaves, tires, paint, oil, gas and hazardous materials. Tight restrictions will be adhered to
at the unloading site. The City reserves the right to refuse any load. BAGS CAN BE PICKED UP AT 9:00 AM in the Lobby at City Hall. Filled bags are to be dropped off at the designated spot at the end of City Hall’s parking lot.

||Public Donations will be accepted at the Post 404 on Route 5 in Vernon from Monday, September 30 through Thursday, October 3, 2013. Baked goods will be accepted on Friday, October 4 and Saturday, October 5 at 9:00 AM. No clothing will be accepted. All proceeds will benefit the philanthropic work of the Post 404 Auxiliary. ||Johnson Hall Lecture Series
||Come enjoy the Johnson Hall State Historic Site’s 250th Anniversary Lecture Series, marking the building of the historic Johnson Hall estate.
Due to continued historic restoration on the mansion’s back entrance, the October 5 lecture will be held in the East Stonehouse, beginning at 11am, where seating will be limited. Refreshments will be available following the lecture. Regular public tours will be available after 1:00pm.

||Memorial Benefit Pig Roast
||Come join us at the Ephratah Rod and Gun Club for the memorial benefit pig roast for Brad Simmons. Tickets are $15 per person and we will be serving great food and beer. There will be a chinese auction and gun raffle for a 12 gage shotgun.
||Linda Gee Benefit
||There’s a benefit for Linda Gee at the DeCarlo-Staffo in Little Falls from 2-6 pm. Tickets are $15 for couples, $10 for singles, 12 and under free. They’ll have food, music, face painting, Chinese auction, 50/50, door prize, and can/bottle collections.
||Roast Beef Dinner
||The North Bush Methodist Church in Caroga Lake will host its annual Roast Beef Dinner at the Wheelerville Union Free School at 2417 State Highway 10 in Caroga Lake. Dinner will include: roast beef and gravy, mashed potatoes, squash, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw and rolls served family style. Beverages and desserts also available. Tickets at the door, adults $10, children 12 and under $5 and kids under 5 eat free. Takeouts available.
