||Fall Ethnic Fest
||The Sons of DeCarlo-Staffo Post No. 8 will host its first Fall Ethnic Feast, featuring foods from different cultures and music with local performers. The all-you-can-eat event will include smaller dishes to complement those being served at each station.
It will also include performances by two different bands with local roots.
The event will take place at the DeCarlo-Staffo Post, Loomis Street Extension, Little Falls. Tickets are $25 a person. Persons must be 21 years old or older to attend. Tickets must be purchased in advanced, before Oct. 1. No tickets will be sold at the door.

With every vehicle purchase on October 19th and October 20th Sun will make a donation to the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of CNY, Inc. Sun is dedicated to supporting their efforts in funding research to help find a cure for breast cancer.
||Utica Ukrainian Festival
|| Every October, St. Volodymyr the Great Ukrainian Catholic Church looks forward to showcasing all that its people have to offer. The church's Ukrainian Festival kicks off at the church's adjoining auditorium on Cottage Place in Utica.The event will feature two Ukrainian dance groups from Syracuse and Binghamton, and a Ukrainian singing band from Rochester, as well as arts and crafts, cultural exhibits, games of chance, and raffles.

||"Ghosts of the Past" Tours
||“Ghosts of the Past” Walking Tours at Green Hill Cemetery in Amsterdam.
Do you have the courage to walk the historic Green Hill Cemetery in the dark? Are you interested in learning more about the people who lived in Amsterdam in the 19th and early 20th centuries - and may have decided to stay around and keep a watchful eye on their city?
Tours start at Amsterdam City Hall, 61 Church Street, where parking will be available and ticket holders will check in and receive a voucher with their tour time. The tour assignments are on a first come, first served basis so please plan to arrive early. “Ghosts of the Past” Tours will begin promptly at 6:00 P.M. with a new tour departing approximately every 20 minutes until 8:00 P.M. and will last approximately 45 minutes. Sturdy walking shoes are recommended as the tour will be over uneven ground in Green Hill Cemetery. While you’re waiting for your tour, or after your return, there will be plenty to do at City Hall. There will be ghostly stories to listen to, a palm reader, psychics, and free refreshments.

||Step Out Walk To Stop Diabetes takes place at beautiful Green Lakes State Park. Entrance and Parking are FREE to participants. This event has 3 routes (1 mile, 2 miles & 3 miles) which are designed for all fitness levels, taking you through the tranquil trails surrounding Green & Round Lakes. Participants will enjoy music, healthy foods & drinks. Wellness Village will provide valuable information and practical resources that will help you improve your health. Funds raised as part of this annual event support the mission of the American Diabetes Association – to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. Through our mission we support over 400 research projects nationwide, advocacy, educational materials, Camp Aspire for kids and community outreach for all individuals with Type 1, Type 2, Gestational and Pre-Diabetes. ||Granny's Kitchens, LLC is having a Bottle drive to benefit Camp Nazareth. All proceeds go to a scholarship fund. Bottle Drive will be held in front of Granny's Kitchens located at 178 Industrial Park Drive in Frankfort.

Come join us and register to walk or run and support a great cause! The CassellCo One Mile Kids Race is free for kids in grades K-6. The Wishful Thinking Homecoming 5k Run/Walk has a $15 entry fee. All entrants will receive: a 2014 family pass to an Amsterdam Mohawks game, free hot dog/drink at the Homecoming game concession stand and a Homecoming 5K Shirt. Don't worry, there is a refreshment stand after race! The proceeds to benefit AHS Cross Country and City Recreation Programming at Bacon School.

||A benefit for Hally Krolik, a seven year old from Clay battling kidney cancer, will be held at the Timber Tavern in Baldwinsville. This event is to raise money to help pay for some of Hally's medical costs.
||EIGHTH ANNUAL FALL FRITTER SUPPER
||Come join us for the Eighth Annual Fall Fritter Supper sponsored by and held in the Social Hall of the Jordanville Federated Church, 209 Main Street in Jordanville. Fritters with Real Maple Syrup, Scalloped Potatoes with Ham, Green Beans, Coleslaw, Applesauce and Desserts make up the menu. For those who have never had them, Fritters are a batter that is deep fried. They form irregularly shaped balls like a deep fried pancake, that when covered in maple syrup, are simply delicious. Adults, $9.50; Children under 12, $4.50; Children under 5, Free. Take outs add $.50 container fee.

||5th Annual Utica Zombie Walk Invades The Stanley
||The 5th Annual Utica Zombie Walk will be at the Stanley, located at 259 Genesee Street. The Utica Zombie Walk is an all-age, free event that allows participants to act out a simulated zombie invasion while also benefiting selected local charities.
Registration, the food drive, makeup and preparation of the zombie horde begin at 5 p.m. at the Stanley’s lobby and makeup room. The cost of registration is free, but participants are asked to bring one non-perishable pet or human food item and present it upon registration.
