Matt's Bio

"Matt in the Morning" Herkimer is no stranger to Central New York country music fans. A native of New Hartford, Matt is a 45 year radio veteran who has seen some big changes in country music over the years and expects to see still more in the future. He is married with one daughter and a stray cat named Parker who showed up half starved in the driveway one day last winter and decided to stay. She is the queen of the house. Matt is a U.S Army Vietnam veteran who supports the men and women in uniform. His interests include golf, travel, reading and cheering on the World Champion Boston Red Sox. (Sorry 'bout that Yankee fans). Matt's favorite country artists include Brooks and Dunn, Alan Jackson and Eric Church. He is looking forward to meeting and talking with BUG Country fans in the days to come.

Consolidation is the buzzword these days. Should we consolidate town services, school districts, police, colleges, etc.?
We've consolidated & taxes still continue upward.
It worked for so many years, why change it now?
No, it takes away school's and town's identities.
Yes, we need to save money.
